  • 2. There appears to be some growing interest among Ghanaians in terms of considering the treatment of mental illness as a necessity and a right. It is therefore an opportune time to drive and sustain this interest.

People with mental health continue to suffer neglect in terms of practical and sustainable support, there appears to be no programme of co-ordinated support to improve outcomes especially among the poor and marginalised. suffer it Besstel believes it is about time to set up a Foundation to support Psychiatric hospitals in Ghana and help individuals with psychiatric difficulties receive treatment, care and support in a manner that is dignified to ensure their long term and sustained recovery.
