Besstel Foundation held the first ever Mental Health Symposium for the Ghana Prison Service.

Besstel Foundation recently as part of it project routine in October, held a it first Mental Health Symposium aimed at addressing and enhancing mental health support within the prison service as part of the mental health day celebration held at the Ghana Prison service head quarters in Accra on the 13 of October 2023.

The symposium brought together experts, professionals, and stakeholders in the field of mental health to discuss innovative strategies and interventions for promoting psychological well-being among incarcerated individuals. The symposium began by acknowledging the unique mental health challenges faced by individuals within the prison system. Experts highlighted the impact of confinement, isolation, and the stigma associated with incarceration on mental health.

The Mental Health Symposium organized by the Besstel Foundation for Prison Service proved to be a crucial platform for fostering dialogue and collaboration in addressing mental health challenges within the prison system.
